de pelgrim

We have had a connection with Oostende ever since my youth pastor days when my collegue, Stuart Filby, was sent form Bognor Baptist to become a pioneer missionary in Belgium.  He and Joyce planted a church that grew into the ‘Pelgrim’ that we know today.  Steve visited Belgium in the early 90′s a number of times in support of this work – particularly for the union youth camps.  Since returning to Bognor in 2004, we have had an ever increasing connection into the body of believers in Oostende, joining them as often as possible to see them grow in faith and then in 2007 moving to Oostende to be part of the church there.

At the end of 2008 we believed it was time to move back to Bognor Regis & seek the Lord for our next season of ministry.  We continue have a genuine heart for Belgium and will do all we can to support the ongoing covenant relationship between Opengate & De Pelgrim.

Greetings in Name of the Lord Jesu

I’m bro. Joey Gonzales- choir director of Clark Field Baptist Church located in Angeles City, Philippines. We had visitors from De Pelgrim in Belgium last May 2011, we had fellowship during our mid week Bible study & prayer.

I just wold like to know more about your ministry and how we could be partners to expand God’s territory. Currently I teach schoolchildren from grade 1 – 6 ( 7-12 yrs old) in our place – a small barrio whose main way of living is driving a passenger jeepney or tricycle around the city.

Some of my past students are mothers now and I’m glad to see that the seed that I planted in their hearts about the Lord Jesus continue to grow. Music played an important factor in bringing these kids to the Lord.

It is my prayer that the Lord will touch someone’s heart and offer the ministry here prayers and support.

Thank you and God richly bless you!

    Sincerely,

    Bro. Joey

      Thanks for your comment Joey.

As you can see from the article above, we moved back to the UK in 2009. We remain in contact with lots of the people in the Belgian church, however we do not have any responsibility for developing relationships from De Pelgrim… their website is http://www.depelgrim.org to connect directly with them.

Bless you in all you are doing to serve the Lord in your community. It sounds like a very valuable ministry.

      Grace & Peace
