Youthworx East Africa (YEA) is a Christian charity run from the UK but based in Kampala, Uganda. Our aim is to make disciples of young people in a way that is relevant to their culture and life. We have a team of committed people in Uganda led by Ian, Collin & Silver. Ian is a long term friend of ours from our time in youth leadership back in the early 90′s. Steve visited the team in February 2007 to get a better feel of what is happening ‘on the ground’ as well as bring encouragement and support form the UK side. Then again in January 2008 to grow these friendships and join in with the ministry at Kampala Baptist Church. This was a really blessed and fruitful time . . . we hope the Lord will bring more opportunities like this!
Uganda along with the surrounding countries of Kenya, Tanzinia and Rwanda & Burundi are all crying out for good biblical leadership. Many churches are rediscovering the principle of making disciples and are asking the equipped and trained personnel of YEA to assist in the growing churches.
As a Trustee of YEA, Steve is a fundamental player in ensuring the vision for discipleship is maintained and supported. We know that this relationship is a deep, and one that we will need to continue investing into for the future. . . . so please pray with us for the direction and growth of this important work. Furthermore, the frequency at which we should travel and be practically engaged in the work.
